Oatmeal and Almonds work together to cut cholesterol
The Mayo Clinic web site says that the following are the best foods to reduce your cholesterol and protect your heart:
- Oatmeal and Oat Bran
- Walnuts and Almonds
- Omega 3 acids (found in cold water fish)
- Soy
A recent University of Toronto study shows that the combination of oatmeal AND almonds are even more effective than when each is eaten alone. The news report says:
The reduction is similar to that achieved by some drug treatments for high cholesterol, suggesting a possible drug-free alternative for combating the condition.

Not only are oatmeal and almonds healthy for you they are sure one tasty treat. Try it with cinnamon in the morning or perhaps blueberries and it’s like a dessert!!
