Could artificial sweetners be making you fat?
I’ve battled my "fat" gene all of my life and after more than 4 decades of going to the grocery store, either with my parental units or on my own, one thing I can’t help but notice is this:
FAT PEOPLE DRINK DIET SODA WHILE THIN PEOPLE DRINK REGULAR SODA
Even within my own family unit, my oldest son, who is thin as a rail, drinks regular soda like it’s going out of style. Meanwhile, the other members of the family who imbibe artificially flavored sodas are all fighting the battle of the bulge…. including the 12 year old in our midst!
The blog promoting the book "Sugar Shock" confirms that fat may be the LEAST of my family’s worries. According to the blog:
Aspartame caused dose-related increases of lymphomas, leukemias and breast cancer in rats when ingested at levels approaching "acceptable daily intake" for humans, according to a study conducted by the European Ramazzini FoundationNewsTarget.com.
ACK!!!! Not only is diet soda making me and mine fat, it’s increasing our risk of cancer as well.
As I write this, there is a can of my beloved Caffeine Free Diet Coke sitting in front of my computer screen. Oh, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, how I love you. I love the way your saucy bubbles dance on my tongue, giving my life meaning.
Sigh. It’s not worth growing a tumor over however!

that´s really something worth thinking about. but i think more people drink diet soda because they are already fat and not the other way round. but to see it the way this saying states is really interesting.

I certainly fear that these chemicals are the explanation of a lot of our problems today. How nice the world would be with better knowledge on these issues!
